Choosing the Right Ball Matters
Not all de-blinding balls are made equal. The performance of a de-blinding ball depends on more than just size. Hardness, size, rebound, and material all affect how the ball contacts the screen, transfers energy into the mesh, and removes trapped particles. Ball Hardness Hardness affects how aggressively the ball impacts the screen. A harder ball can deliver stronger cleaning action and may help dislodge tougher pegging or compacted particles, but it may also be more aggressive on fine mesh or delicate screens. A softer ball provides gentler impact and better surface conformity, which can be useful for finer mesh, lighter-duty applications, or where screen protection is a priority.

Material Option Material selection affects temperature resistance, abrasion resistance, chemical compatibility, durability, and overall cleaning performance. Silicone may be preferred for higher-temperature applications or where flexible, consistent rebound is important, while rubber can provide strong general-purpose performance and wear resistance. Custom materials may be used when the process requires specific hardness, rebound, abrasion resistance, temperature capability, or compatibility with the material being screened.

Rebound Rebound determines how much bounce and cleaning energy the ball provides during operation. Higher rebound balls create more active movement and repeated impacts against the underside of the screen, which can improve de-blinding performance in many dry screening applications. Lower rebound materials may be better where controlled movement, reduced noise, or less aggressive screen contact is desired.

Ball Size Ball size affects contact area, movement, and impact energy. Larger balls generally create stronger impact and cover more area, making them useful for heavier-duty screening or larger openings. Smaller balls can move more freely in tighter ball trays and may be better suited for fine mesh screens or applications where more frequent contact across the screen surface is needed.
